Brooke Orist-Sasquatch Cookies, with guest presenter (mom!), Lisa Vaughn.
Today, Jenn’s question of the day was ‘Do you use social media in your business and if so, which one/s?’ Well, if you weren’t present, it generated a lot of funny comments about ‘older’ people not being with the times! Come next week to hear from Brooke’s mom, Lisa, the ‘old’ lady running Sasquatch’s social media campaigns. She will teach us some things she has learned along the way. She says, “If I can do it, you can too!”

Have you been on the Western Museum of Mining & Industry (WMMI) campus recently? After 53 years of serving the community as an educational non-profit, they still meet people every week who “had driven by for years” and finally ventured in to be pleasantly surprised by the “hidden gem”, pun intended. Today, the WMMI came to us (thank you, Kim, for hosting them!) They shared a bit of their story which continues to represent the past, present, and future of Colorado.

Notes from your executive director:
Help us grow our membership! The board would like to grow by 15 members this fiscal year (July to June!) Have a best in class company in mind? Please get w/ Tricia as a first ‘stop’ to make sure the category can be opened. Note, per the bylaws, when a company wants to apply for membership in a certain category, business from the category must be at least 75% of their annual income. Please understand, there is crossover with almost every single member’s category. It’s a big sandbox and we have to place nicely if we wish to grow. Rarely do companies today offer only one product or service. The key in Execs is the percentage! Often times (I have so many examples) members who are skeptical of a new company actually end up partnering with or referring to the new member. Please keep this in mind as we try to grow and move forward. (Oh, and earn $100 Execs gift certificate for each member you sponsor through the end of October.)
Here are some potential categories we can fill! If you know of a best in class company who might like to be a part of Execs, bring them as a guest!
Flower shop/florist; Carpet cleaning company; Plumber; Landscape Architect; Handyman
There are MANY MANY other possibilities! Please reach out if you think of a category that we should consider!
I need a presenter for Sept. 13. Who wants to seize the opportunity?!
